MB TRAC 1300 Super

Building a powerful, versatile tractor based on the Unimog concept that's easy to use, was the idea of Gustav Krettenauer, an agricultural engineer at the Daimler-Benz at the Gaggenau plant, and his team in 1967.

From the outset, the specifications for the MB Trac were as follows:
Four-wheel drive of equal size, like the Unimog, from which it had to borrow many parts for reasons of economy and reliability. The top speed had to be 25 km/h, and the differentials had to be controlled and locked from the cab. The driver's seat must be centrally located, so that it can be reversed simply by rotating it. The weight must be on the front axle to maximise pulling power under full load and a powerful hydraulic control system must be present at the front and rear with a pre-planned lifting system. Finally, the area behind the cab must offer the possibility of mounting additional equipment.

The arrival of the MB trac 1100 & 1300 was a success, and around 3,000 tractors were sold in the first two years. From the launch of the series in 1973 to April 1979, the total number of units sold reached 10,000, with the MB Trac particularly high proportion for the MB Trac 1300. Demand from European farmers and foreign countries with vast arable land was promising. Soon the new flagships appeared, the turbocharged MB Trac 1300 and 1500. Source : MBtrac Portail

  • Scale: 1/8th
  • Theme: Exceptional Tractor
  • Model: Unique piece delivered

The scale of 1/8 is a long-term endeavour, because of the multiple procedures required. One after another, the designer, the draughtsman, the turner, the metal worker, the mill machine operator, the carpenter, the coach-builder, the saddler and the painter work as a team highlighting the passion of the craftsman regarding gesture and material.

Creation entirely designed and made at my workshop in France.
